How to use the Go Card in Bahrain?

To use, simply

  • Top-up your card on the ticket machines set-up on the buses
  • Upon checking in, the system will deduct the single trip fare which is 275 fils only
  • Touch on at the start of your journey
  • Touch off at the end.

Types of Go Card

  1. Anonymous: Anonymous cards can be purchased from the ticket offices in the main bus terminals, from the Ticket Vending Machines at the stations or from the bus driver. Anonymous cards can be used for pay-as-you-go (single trips and daily capping) and for the Weekly Pass.
  2. Personalized:  Personalized GO Cards can be purchased only at the ticket offices in the main bus terminals during opening hours. Personalized GO Cards can be used for all options, including pay-as-you-go (single trips and daily capping), the Weekly Pass and the Monthly Pass

2. Does a GO Card expire?
GO Cards are set currently to have a 10-year life in line with the BPTC concession contract. However, this end date is fully configurable and will likely be increased. To all intents and purposes, the GO Card does not have an expiry date.

3. Where will a lost card be returned to?
If cards are found by members of the public they will be returned to the nearest bus terminal manned ticket office. If cards are found on buses by the driver or cleaning staff they will be returned to the traffic office at Isa Town bus depot.
